i spent 2 days in joberg a few years ago, and can't wait to go back. much better than expected. sandton is boring. one thing i remember enjoying very much was a tour of the mandela museum, his prior residence, done by the curator, who i believe is his son-in-law. for places to stay at the cape, i recommend tripadviser.com.
