Many of those injured in this incident are now seeking compensation from EVA.
Frankly, I don't see any merit to their claim. You want to unbuckle your seatbelt during flight, you should be willing to accept the risk of getting injured during turbulance. They blame the pilot for not giving them early warning, as if the pilot can somehow magically detect turbulance or wind gust before it happens.
Passengers in Taiwan can be a real whiny bunch. Fog forces airport shutdown, they demand compensation. Turbulance resulting in injuries, they demand compensation. Inflight movie cut short due to landing, they demand compensation. Not getting the inflight meal you order, they demand compensation. The whole thing is getting out of control.
