I read about these spending levels , and I never had to spend anything like the amounts mentioned to get offered Centurion.

Now I have it , I only spend a few K a year on it. All other spend on our 2 BA Amex accounts. ( Thanks for the two 2-1's a year).

Still works out good value to me. SPG Plat is fantastic. Without that the maybee I would think again.
