Melbourne runway gets an upgrade

Because you're scheduled to fly in or out of Melbourne in the coming weeks, we'd like to remind you that Melbourne Airport will be carrying out an extensive runway upgrade between 5 April and 16 May 2005, prior to the arrival of the new Airbus A380 next year.

These works will affect all airlines using Melbourne Airport. We anticipate that Qantas and QantasLink flights may experience delays of around 20 minutes, during peak times, from 7.30am to 9.30am, and from 5pm to 8pm. Further delays may occur depending on weather conditions.

To minimise the impact of these works we have rescheduled some services and contacted those passengers affected. We do, however, recommend that all our passengers allow a little extra time when travelling between 5 April and 16 May 2005.
