I don't understand why any merchant would accept American Express at all (though I am most pleased that they do so - more miles for me). I doubt that there is a significant number of people who carry an Amex card who do not also carry a Visa card or Mastercard. Can some merchant explain why you accept Amex cards at a higher cost to you?
