Are you PremEx, or did you lose any UA status?

AC does not offer a Fast Track to Elite, so you'll have to earn it by flying, and you must do it buying FUN, LATITUDE or FREEDOM fares. TANGOs are a waste of money, and flying transcons or domestic routes will only get you 50%, so that's 17 YVR-YYZ-YVR flights in a year to get Elite, the only status likely to be achievable by you that will earn you much in the way of useable benefits.

You should at least sign up for the MLL card or get an AMEX AeroPlat card for MLL access until you earn Elite. From the sounds of things, you are unlikely to do this on Tango fees, so this will be your most comfortable way of flying AC.
