I watch DEN-SIN fares pretty consistently, and I agree with carbonchaser. I rarely saw upgradeable fares below $1,100 in 2004. For my trip last October, the lowest I could find was $1276. Being on the coast will probably lower your price a bit, but they just don't seem to have those super-cheap upgradeable fares any more.
