I'm planning to go to DPS (probably via BKK or SIN) in early August. I've gone late in August and found upgradeable airfares to BKK and SIN in the $800 range. This year it's more like $1200 and $1600.

I don't follow these fares very closely and I'm wondering if anyone here has some historical perspective. Do the fares for that time usually take a dip as the time gets closer? Or is this what I should plan on paying?

Any other suggestions for alternative routings that might yield lower fares or dealing with a consolidator welcome.
