I agree with Jon. For the most part, I have had pretty good luck with EWR.

I personally like IAH much better than HOU. I use it most often as a connecting airport, although I have flown to IAH as a destination many, many times. It's a great connecting hub, one of the two or three best in the country in my opinion, as far as getting in and out on time are concerned. The only one I like a lot better is DEN. Restaurants and shopping could be improved at IAH, they're a little dated, but things are much worse at HOU. Presidents Clubs are well placed and well staffed at IAH; I'm not sure if there's even one at HOU. The toll road whisks you in and out of downtown Houston from IAH; roads to and from Hobby can be an adventure.

BTW baggage service is great at IAH. Every single time I've ever flown in, without exception, my bags (with Priority Handling tags) have been among the first out of the chute.
