Refunds on Refundable tickets - How long will I be AA's banker?
I bought three refundable tickets on AA on line in the last week in February. I hit the refund button on line two days later when it became clear that I could not take the trips. As of today nothing had happened on my credit card bill, so I called the Plat line. I was informed that this was not enough to get the refund processed, that I had to verbally request the refund and that the refund could take up to two months. Is it normal that AA requires a separate phone call to generate these refunds? In those cases in which a refund is requested on a refundable ticket, does AA make the customer its banker for two months?
I have to mention that in my experience, CO processes refund requests on refundable tickets in two days, a week at most.
