I am not going to go into the rights and wrongs of the security but as someone who always get the red sticker (white Anglo Saxon but does work in the West Bank) I have to say I would rather go through Tel Aviv airport than an American one.

All of my bags are searched (90% of the passengers going through Tel Aviv have their bags searched), I normall get a body search, this is not a strip search but a thougher pat down and a complete going over with a metal detecting wand. then there are the questions,the same questions asked over and over again by several different people to make sure that I do not change my story. Once I had been in Jerusalem doing some training and they actually made me do some of the training course to them. Finally escourted through checkin and to the departure gate.

Yes it is time consuming, but I have always been treated politely
