Since many of us have our "favourite" seats on both the old and new layout, it will be useful to know so that we can request for the seat that suits us best.

For the 747-400 it's easy to tell. The new layout should read in the system as "744" not "747".
As for the 777 - it will take a bit more work.
If a flight has availability in F and A class - it's not reconfigured yet.
If it has no F or A, you then need to make dummy bookings in C class. MH opens up the availability of the old F seats (row 1 and 2) on not yet reconfigured planes. From the seat map - if rows 1 and 2 are 6 abreast - it's the old layout.
If your seatmap shows 7 abreast throughout - it's the new layout. Hope this helps somewhat
