Well said FF and FLYaway3. I’m sure once grey-haired grandmothers from Savannah, Georgia start blowing themselves up on the streets of Israel they will be the target of this “racist” profiling. It’s strange that people in the UK didn’t seem overly concerned about “racist” profiling at UK ports/airports when the IRA was bombing the mainland 15-20 years ago. I guess such niceties are more important when it’s someone else’s cities and friends that are being blown apart.

As someone who was inconvenienced by this policy I didn’t have a problem with it. I could understand why the police thought that an IRA terrorist was likely to be Irish or of Irish descent, rather than wearing a stripy jumper and beret and named Monsieur Leblanc. After all, we all have a shared interest in getting murderous, terrorist scum of our streets, don’t we??
