I agree... my only issue is that the exchange rate the hotel uses should be the daily bank rate not the "daily in-house rate". Either way I say let the currency market decide the exchange and not the hotel.
If the hotel wants to charge a premium on currency I have no problem with them doing that on money I exchange at the front desk. That is expected. Which I avoid doing anyway.
But to convert the rate at what ever the hotel deems is profitable... that is not right. The hotel tried to take me for $304 CDN I would say that is THEFT! Not good business... Next time I will book in USD and pay in USD and I expect it to be honoured at a 1:1 ratio... FAIR?
