After checking on loads w/ an internal contact at UA, there would have been no problem getting on a flight at DCA. However, after 2 weeks of work (including weekends), I really wanted to kick back and have a few glasses of wine -- even though the flight is only 1.5 hours.
That said, the F-cabins were a little jammed, and knowing the 3-class 767s were open in biz, I opted to take a cab to IAD.
The roadways were wide open, however, I had the world's slowest cab driver -- not once did we exceed 50 mph.
Upon arriving to IAD, I checked in only to see my boarding pass read
2A!!!
To top it off, we had N643UA -- the one with a new paint job!!!
