Assuming both segments were scheduled for a -500 given the fact that we only have 25 airframes of that particular model your chances for flying on the same bird were pretty good.
The retrofit to the -700 style seating config is actually running ahead of schedule. The lounge seating should be gone on all aircraft by the end of the year.
