I doubt that Gordon will buckle unless he really starts to see revenue loss. Lets face it, CO's planes a full and their ticket prices appear to be on average at the high end, with fewer discount seats, whenever I do searches. Other airlines have tried this in the past and eventually went back. Perhaps AA sees a recession in the future and is already planning for lighter loads. SOmeone form UA or AA made a statement several weeks ago that this change would "probably" result in fewer discount seats being available. If this is the case, and there is no recession, and the planes stay full, then revenue will not go down. Who pays? Of course the passenger who now has to buy a B or M seat rather than a V or Q.
