Stretched DC-8s ... I used to fly YUL-YHZ-YYT on those in the late 70s. Did you ever sit in an aisle seat at the very back of the economy cabin and look up along the aisle towards the front? There was an observable flexing motion in turbulence. I found it quite eerie, even though I knew that it was ok.
