Some random thoughts
The First Suite is nice, and you have time to enjoy it on a transcon. A $1000 fare seems almost reasonable.

Are you likely to need the EQMs to qualify for elite status? The bonuses for booking in First might be really useful.

What's your attitude about your M+ balance? If you're trying to burn miles, it might make sense to use the XC ticket.
