Question Transcon Q - 40k in C or $1k in F suite?

I have a dilemma. I've booked an IAD-LAX XC ticket for a conference (personal trip and out of pocket) in September. But, looking online, I can get a 777 F suite on the same flights for ~$1100 A fare (QUP). I have a third option of using the Meeting Plus desk and getting 10% off to net it at ~$1k, paying the $5 phone fee and losing out on the 1k booking bonus and MP Visa EQM's.

I've never flown in an F suite, and the cost seems reasonable for the 6800 EQMs and miles (although it's a tiny bit of a splurge). What would you do? My only concern is that there'll be an aircraft swap and the F suite will turn into an Airbus guppy. If that happens, will I have recourse to have it changed to say, a p.s. flight? Thanks for your suggestions!!!

btw, rather than cancelling the XC ticket and paying the $100, I'm thinking of changing it to random dates. (I'll probably end up using it some other time anyway)
