After unsatisfactory service from NTT Verio and its registrar, I took the advice of FlyerTalkers and switched my hosting to Pair, and transferred my domain to Pair's in-house registrar, pairNIC.

The transfer was seamless, and when I called with a question I got an immediate, on-target answer from the tech person, who was in (IIRC) Pittsburg PA, not Bangalore or some other telephone-support abyss (he even had a sense of humor, imagine that)

Highly recommended (and thanks again to the FTers who originally recommended Pair to me).
