Question European discount airline?

Hi -- this is my first posting, so please forgive me if it's been discussed before.

I'm a student from Canada looking to travel to & within Europe this summer (england, france, spain & italy). I'm considering flying to London and then using a discount carrier to get to Paris. I checked out the RyanAir website and they have ridiculously low fairs -- in the fifteen to twenty euro range, after taxes.

With the recent collapse of JetsGo here in Canada, I'm wary of these 'too good to be true' airlines. Can anyone vouch for the reputation of RyanAir, or another discount European airline? You could potentially help me save a couple of hundred dollars (Canadian).

Thanks!
