Obviously you have mistaken the AA flights from DFW-LAX for CO, since CO does not offer flights to LAX from DFW. However, I do agree that this "fuel price" thing is getting out of hand. First it was a "segment tax" to offset higher fuel prices and most airlines adopted it. Now, it's a plain old fare increase to offset higher fuel prices.

Speaking of price increases, has anyone noticed that CO, and maybe others, have increased their beer and wine prices to $4.00 from $3.00? I heard this announcement on a flight last week, (normally I do not pay attention to the "in-flight service" announcements), but a 33% increase in price for a beer or small bottle of wine with a metal cap is unheard of.
