I'm not a fan of DIA. I do confess to a general dislike of airports that are far out of the cities they serve and have crummy mass transportation to boot, but it's more than that. Maybe I've just been unlucky, but I've had several thunderstorm delays into and out of there, not to mention a memorable time flying in that fall weekend several years ago for the big blizzard when the roads were virtually impassable (and an even better time trying to leave a couple of days later when none of the employees came to work). I think B concourse is too long and does not have sufficient moving walkways--I once landed late on the UX end for a connection all the way on the other end and felt I'd run a marathon by the time I got there. The train has failed/stalled/delayed an appreciable number of times I've had to use it. (By contrast, I've never had a problem with the SEA train.) As has been noted above, security in recent years is frequently a nightmare. And though I hardly ever check bags nowadays (and WON'T into or out of there) the baggage system STILL has problems--as happened to a friend on Sunday. When Pena went to Washington, it was Denver's gain.
