So what's the point of relocating your regional headquarter from Point A to Point B for the purpose of expanding point B when you ended up expanding/increasing flights ex-Point A?

I've probably brought this up many times before. CX flies to 5 NA destinations of YVR, YYZ, SFO, LAX, and JFK. Among of those 5 destinations, LAX has the smallest HK immigrant population. But come July, LAX will have more CX flights than any of those other 4 destinations. Kind of stupid IMO for CX to send 3 daily 744's to a city with a small HK immigrant population. I guess this is one of those rare dumb moves that CX's marketing team has put out.

Soon, KE will fly 4x daily LAX-ICN. Am I surprised? NO! Because LAX has a huge Korean Immigrant community. Both CI & BR fly twice daily on LAX-TPE. Am I surprised? NO! Because LAX has a huge Taiwanese expat society. But with CX....come on...something just doesn't make sense with their LAX approach.

With a small HK immigrant community then who is CX's main target market group ex-LAX to justify multiple flights with large a/c's?

When one looks at the census bureau, YYZ's HK immigrant community is 4x larger than LAX's. So in essence it should be YYZ that should get 3x daily 744s not LAX. But noooo. YYZ gets serve only once daily with the dreadful 34D.

Maybe Mayor Jim Hahn bribed CX management to take such actions. Who knows!!
My gosh! Take it easy there. I have never heard of a CX flight out of LAX with only HK immigrants. Just like oneWorld and Pickles said, the connecting traffic in LAX is crazy. AA's presence in LAX is also bigger than in SFO.

Although CX is based in HK, they can attract customers from all over the world. Why not?
