If you can snag a couple of SWUs (trade miles on coupon connection?) the W fare is upgradeable. Otherwise be prepared to enjoy E+ and be pleasantly surprised if they call your name at the gate.
Even then, it may still be hard to get an upgrade.
I'm a month out from my flight to Japan, ticketed in Y, and I can't confirm an upgrade to C for any day around my travel dates. Waitlist it is then.
