I've called after six on a couple of occasions and was told it was no problem. I think if you are a long time customer, it makes a big difference.

Also, I've arrived at a hotel after six that I thought I was booked at, and if they have a room they will call over to the other Marriott and cancel the reservation.

I have found that the service at Marriott is usually very good.
