Surely it would be simple to allow family groups to check in online but restict selection to adjacent seats. Then, if the child turns up at the airport on their own, deny them boarding.
I travel regularly with my wife and son and I find this restriction infuriating
ahh but olci does not have the ability to do this. This was the next stage but then 9/11 happened and the project got canned
A new version of olci is on it way, i know BA are looking at this, whether it will be in scope only time will tell.
