I remember flying DFW-LAS about a year ago in F. I had flown a redeye to DFW, had a full day of meetings, and the DFW-LAS flight was delayed over an hour, so I was in a bad mood and really sleepy.

The F/As didn't serve any pre departure drinks, instead, as a joke, they blasted up some music on the PA system before we left the gate to go along with the disco party in the forward galley.

I got really pissed off and explained: (a) blaring music is disruptive and rude, (b) if they have time to mess around with the music and tell jokes to each other, why don't they have time to serve some drinks? Needless to say they brought me and my equally pissed off seatmate a cup of water, but the rest of the cabin went thirsty.
