Or you could actually listen to the crew and mind the seatbelt sign. We turn it on for a reason, not because we want to be on a power trip. The flightdeck has control of the sign because we are looking forward and are listening to ATC. We are the first ones to know if it might be bumpy... so we turn it on, or don't turn it off FOR A REASON!!!
Turb is not necessarily something one can look at, but we know was conditions make for turb as well as hearing reports from other planes and from ATC. It's always amazing to me that people think they know better when it comes to the belt sign. I don't want to see people hurt, but sometimes it serves people right to have consequences because of their own stupidity.
