This is a Political Correctness nonsense that is getting way out of control, this imagining that your child will be automatically attacked if they sit next to someone they don't know. Well there are many of us who as children did huge mileages on our own by all possible means, thoroughly enjoying it all and never us or our friends having the slightest bad experience. Such kids are probably more worldly-wise than those who are shielded all the way. And my own children will be taught and encouraged to be just as self-sufficient, self-assured and independent in society as I was.

It's even spread to things like getting the bus to school - oh dear, don't want you sitting next to a nasty stranger in the bus. Of course, it also gives Mummy the chance to ponce around in front of all the other Mummies outside the school gates in Daddies latest 4x4 which Mummy hasn't got a clue how to drive, which must be far more dangerous for the kids coming out of school - but never mind.

Sorry to divert us all from OLCI !
