I've flown LAX-FRA-BHX and LAX-LHR on United.

For travel to Asia I always fly CX. I recently lost my Marco Polo Club status.

I've never flown American Airlines. Am I missing anything or is the product and service offerings comparable to United? I have read mixed passenger opinions on FlyerTalk and on Skytrax and have yet to reach a conclusion. Is there one or is it like Coke Vs. Pepsi?

I will be traveling from LAX to LHR a few times a year for the next three years. Should I continue flying United and maintain my mere Premier status or should I fly American and try to regain my Marco Polo Club status?

Also, is the product and service offerings for AA's LAX-LHR identical to AA's SFO-LHR?

It really is a matter of personal choice. You did not specify a class of service... which makes it harder to answer your question.

On a typical LAX - LHR flight, United is much better than American in Economy Class.

In Business Class, United offers 55 inches of legroom while American offers 60. American offers a superior amenity kit featuring Temple Spa products. The meal service on both carriers on this route are comparable, though United offers a much better in-between meals snack selection.

In First Class, AA has better sleeper seats. Other than that, everything else on both carriers is very similar to Business Class.
