in terms of sleeping comfort there is actually no big difference because the A340 seats are angled when flat . This position is IMHO not really useful. Even the crew will recommend the lazy Z so that you don't wake up on the floor and get run over by a cart. There are of course other nice things about the A340 like the on-demand IFE (if it works of course) etc.
