BA is a great spot. I have been twice and thinking of heading again. I prefer to stay in Ricoleta, as it is not as busy as Florida. Check out the Kepinski hotels in Ricoleta. Small, nice and good deals on expedia.

We had just come from RIO (Copacabana Palace THE place to stay) so no beaches. The BA hotels were booked through AMEX PLAT Fine Hotels and Resorts so we were entitled to ugrades upon checkin--almost always to a suite. The first hotel was the Alvear Palace in the Recoleta. A fabulous property but no upgrades available--hotel jammed. Upon return from Montevideo we checked into the Marriott Palace on the Florida Street ped mall and was given a beautiful two room suite. This is my favorite hotel in BA. Cabs in the city will take you virtually anywhere for $3.00 so the hotel location is not that important--although the Marriott is perfectly located.
