Actually, I did call that number because of your previous endorsement and spoke with Kanae Okuma. I will call her back and ask about the quote, which include $165 for "tax". I realize airline tix have lots of taxes, but normally the tax is wrapped into the fare. She did say I was getting charged an extra $30 coming and going for weekend (Friday and Saturday departures.). The trip departs May 20 and returns June 4.

i guess prices have gone up a bit of late. i believe the taxes i usually pay are closer to 100, but who knows. maybe you can call a few more places to keep them honest (most TAs can attempt to match competing fares by dipping into their own commisions).
you might try to get some ua and --dare i say it-- nw consolidator quotes as well, but jl is always my preferred carrier when i'm departing from a gateway.
