Flying dfw to KOA next week, family of 3, no food service (other than the handy dandy sandwiches they sell) So it is an 8 hour or so flight, am thinking we will buy Subway and put it in a small portable cooler. Although the baggage allowance area says that food that will be consumed in flight does not count toward your baggage allowance, am thinking that a six pack size soft sided cooler would be part of my carry on allotment?

Really do not want to eat a 6 hour old sandwich that hasn't stayed cold and judging by the comments I have seen here, I really do not want to buy the food they sell????
