Back to the point of the thread .... I was scouting around for cheap WT+ tickets to Shanghai this morning, and I was shocked to find that Paris came out as the cheapest departure point - just £863! This can be upgraded to Club for 40,000 miles.

(As a comparison, the cheapest Club ticket I can find is ex-Milan at £1,750.)

This also opens a cheap route to HKG, as availability, as we know, is dire in Club for awards or MFU's. An £863 + 40k miles Shanghai return ex-Paris plus £230 return for the Dragonair connection to HKG is not a bad deal.
