TR35R summoned me to this thread to offer an opinion and my opinion is an unqualified vote for jl, which is world's better than ca in all classes. also, keep in mind that jl will throw in a hotel room in nrt or kix on your return if you book a flight from pek that doesn't connect with one of the us flights. in theory, they're not supposed to give you this option if there's space on an earlier flight, but reality is very different. i always take the stopover on my eastbound trips because one of the few drawbacks of jl is the long layover in nrt (kix is much better from pvg; not sure about pek).

your fare quotes seem a bit on the high side so you might want to check a few more agencies. as i've posted before, i have had good luck with amnet in costa mesa 714 438 1328 iirc.
