It's entirely possible that if Mesa invests that the majority of the US Board of Directors in the post-bankruptcy compnay will be controlled by regional airlines. You don't think they are going to want to do something like grow the mainline fleet do you? It's like mortgaging a church to strip-club operators. Letting the tail wag the dog. And so forth.

You raise an interesting point, but I'm not sure that I concur entirely. Perhaps on the short-haul routes you are right, but it would seem to me that the regionals would have an interest in seeing an expansion of the long-haul and international stuff that they are not equipped to service which provides traffic feed from which they benefit.
