you can probably buy it cheaper stateside, even compared to UK duty free prices. the only general exception to this are bottles that are not exported such as Whisky Society bottles (www.smws.co.uk) or older 25yr olds or some such.

if your trip includes Edinburgh, please please ensure you pay the Whisky Society a visit - you won't regret it!

a tad OT, but hey, it's a whisky tip!
