I was looking at the NRT-BKK segments in BC a bit over a month ago. I found a reasonable amount of seats available. Usually 1 or 2 seats from NRT-BKK, when I was checking 2 months out.
I was looking to buy a ticket to NRT, and then use 30k miles for last BC segment. The tickets had gone up a lot, and thought this was a good way to get there and at least be comfortable for 1/3 of the trip.
They ended up dropping the prices from LAX, so I just got some Q class tickets in coach. I'm hoping for an op-up, but who knows.
