Problem is there is no business available on the dates I want, so I am thinking about voluntarily downgrading to Y to travel on the dates I need. Now, the question is, will BA or CX or IB allow me to standby for a business class seat if there is availability on the day of departure?

Thanks.
I remember seeing somewhere that atleast AY issued OW awards cannot be put on waitlist, dunno if there's some specific rules with AA/CX.
