Too European? With all due respect, what does that mean? Being "European", in the context of hotels, does not mean understated elegance and charm necessarily. There are some brash and ostentatious hotels, and some that are Ikea clones, many which are cookie cutter. In fact, when I hear "European" with "hotel" I think cramped over-priced quarters, with terribly old plumbing, one barely functioning cage lift, with rates that include a simple breakfast.
