The HIX that I stay at has the "new" shower heads. The pressure is ok. What I have noticed is that the spray patterns of the shower head are noticeably better than at most other hotels. With all the different patterns, I can usually find a pattern (regular spray, wide spray, massage, mixed pattern) that suits my needs.

Here in California, IIRC, all shower heads must be of the low flow type due to our ever present drought. So, regardless of how much water pressure there is in the pipes, the shower head will allow only X # of gallons/liters/cups per minute.
