At this point I can't change the dates, but here's what we have now:
Kansas City-Singapore April 5, NW 1124 MCI-DTW, NW 11 DTW-NRT, NW 5 NRT-SIN. On April 13 we go NW 6 SIN-NRT. On April 19 we go NW 12 NRT-DTW, NW 1749 DTW-MCI.

I called CO yesterday and they showed 1 bus seat on the NRT-SIN but couldn't make the booking because they said the whole trip in one direction has to be in the same class of service. There are no bus seats on CO to NRT. I already tried other cities, but since we are already ticketed it will cost $50 each every time I try to change. CO says there are bus seats unsold, but NW won't release them for award travel. I don't have any NW miles. I was trying to use up all my CO miles on this trip and never use CO again since it is so hard to get seats. Most of the miles came from Am Ex and MC use, not flying.

My husband has resigned himself to the cattle car in the back. Will the flight attendants let us change seats halfway so we can shre the bus seat? Thanks for all suggestions.
