Capt. Webster (pure coincidence before you scream nepotism).
He was piloting our SFO-LHR flight back in July 04 that diverted to ORD due to a faulty fuel gauge.
He was great (even before take-off) and even gave his ual.com email out over the PA system.
A few trips later, he was in charge of another SFO-LHR trip of mine. As we were disembarking he was standing in FC saying goodbye to the passengers. I took him up on his offer of a conversation (open invite over PA after landing) to discuss the July diversion.
He was so friendly and explained in great detail the circumstances around the decision to divert. He also told me exactly just how much over the maximum landing weight we were at touchdown in ORD due to the fact that with little faith in the gauges he was reluctant to dump any fuel.
