i know it sounds bitter, but i think AS goes out of their way for AA pax but the reverse isnt true. it is frustrating to me. i am very impressed with the way NW treats AS elites (and vice versa). i would like to see the boarding changed from all partner elites may now board to be the partner elites from NW and whatever other airlines treat AS elites well may now board..
I agree, it should just be the NW elites that get those benefits, as NW is the only partner that really offers any of those fringe benefits. I used to hate NW, but actually enjoy flying now that I get to enjoy a few elite benefits. Best thing is the relationship still preserves the benefits of the carrier's elites first, so it doesn't dilute the benefits. (ie: the upgrade benefits are day of travel when travelling on the partner, so the Elites travelling on their own metal get their upgrades, and the partner gets what's left.)
