a friend told me one thing. he was living in europe and moved out of europe.

his MR account was euro based, and after he is now living in the usa and get a platinum card there, amex transferred his MR points at a ratio euro / usd. so 1 euro MR point is 1.32 MR points if sent to USA MR accounts.

So this means, you will get 1.32 points, which is a + of 32% depending of the currency exchange rate.

so i calculated the following, in europe for example exchange MR -> SPG is at a ratio of 3:1 ! annoying .
So sent the points to US based card MR account get if sent 10000 MR points 13200 Points.

than change the MR points to SPG starpoints , at a ratio of 2:1 .

in europe you get for 10k only 3300 Starpoints.
in us you will get 13k points after the transfer and this convert to 6500 Starpoints.

So this will double the value of the MR points.

of course you can only do it , if you have a account in europe and than in usa or other countries.

so i hope the euro will stay strong

one question, does anybody know a way to convert on a 1:1 base airline or hotel points back to MR points?
