I've been going every year since since the Lodge opened. I find that either you love it or hate it. There is very little in between. I think the island is a spectacular. I love the fire place suite at the Lodge, I enjoy the golf and my afternoons are spent poolside at Manele. The food is very good although over priced....The service is not the best. The property is showing signs of wear... You have to take the island at face value. Its almost like a cruise since its all one company running the show. Mr. Murrdock had visions of grandeur however, occupancy rates and home sales did not take off as he dreamed. I for one don't mind 50% occupancy. I'd never buy a home there but its sure a nice place to visit for three days. When you arrive you have to key down, sit back, and RELAX. Enjoy the experience and don't get upset if the staff is not the most overzealous.
