BTW, paradoxically, I've found that finding seats on Star partners flying transborder or intl. using AP (any status) miles has been far easier than on pure AC metal.

For folks flying intra-Canada, I know that this is cold comfort. And I don't expect that it will get much better, due to domestic market considerations (or increasingly, LACK thereof, ie Jetsgo!!).
